I'm ready for my new family!

Nick is an intelligent 73-lb. Carolina Dog, approximately 9 years old.  He doesn't let his blindness slow him down - in fact, he can be a bit bullheaded about accepting help when navigating obstacles.  With his excellent sense of smell, Nick prefers to figure things out on his own, thank you very much.  To keep him safe he does require a fenced in yard.

Since attending doggy daycare, he has been more social and friendly with the dogs we meet, although he does have a preference for females.  Nick loves his daily walks and will stand patiently while you put on his walking vest. He still may act defensively when he hears other dogs barking, which we attribute to his blindness, but a quick correction gets him back on track.  He does well with the resident dogs and the resident cats, though he may chase them from time to time.  

Nick is house-trained, crate-trained, up-to-date on vaccinations and does well with boarding. He is a determined, affectionate and very treat motivated dog who will thrive with someone who understands his unique needs and independent spirit.
