I'm ready for my new family!

At 14 years young (I was born on 2/26/11), I am the kind of dog, who melts hearts just be being near. I spent nearly my entire life with my beloved owner, a 95 year-old-woman, who went into hospice care and sadly passed away. Now, I am looking for a soft place to land and someone to love through my golden years. ARPO was able to find me a foster home and I was really happy for that.  

I am the definition of loyal. I follow my foster mom around the house, always happy just to be near. I adore being petted and brushed. I am told that I am quite handsome with my red coat of fur. I will quietly soak up all of the affection that you are willing to give me. Whether it's as stroll around the block or a nap in the sun, I am happiest being by your side. 

My foster mom says that I walk beautifully on a leash, ride calmly in the car, and am a very polite houseguest. I enjoy the outdoors and especially love to lay in the grass, soaking in the sunshine. I get along very well with the resident female dog - a respectful and friendly companion. I do not need to be crated. I am allowed on the furniture, but I don't get on the furniture. I also have had no accidents in the house, even with the big change for me from my former home to my new foster home. 

I might be a senior, but my heart is full of love as ever. If you have room in your home and your heart--for a kind gently boy who is looking for comfort and companionship, I would love to meet you. I am gentle, loyal, and full of quiet affection. I do not need much - just a warm bed, a soft touch, and someone to love.
