Garbanzo, affectionately known as Banzo, is a resilient 6–8-month-old pup with a heart full of love and a spirit that can’t be broken. He was brought into a local emergency vet clinic, having been hit by a car, and X-rays revealed an unrepairable fracture in the top of his femur.
Despite the pain, Banzo charmed the vet staff with his sweet, friendly nature. Once transferred to a loving foster home (one of the nurses that he won over in the hospital), he was scheduled for surgery. While the only option was amputation, Banzo has taken it all in stride. Now fully on the mend, he’s getting stronger every day and keeping up just fine with the resident dogs in his foster home. Sometimes, he can even outrun them!
This little guy has one heck of a personality. Whether he is cuddling with you on the couch or running around outside with his furry friends, his foster mom swears that he genuinely has a smile on his face. His unfortunate circumstances have not put a damper on his love for people and other animals. The goal is to find a home that will see just how special he is, as he has definitely been a wonderful addition to the current foster home he is in. His foster mom reports that there isn't a day that goes by, where he does not make her giggle. Especially when you have a dog that does things like the "windmill" (what Banzo's foster family calls the hilarious routine he goes through in order to go potty with one hind leg)!
Banzo may only have three legs, but he’s got more than enough love (and energy!) to go around. He is now ready to find his forever family—could it be you?
