About

Founded in 1998, the Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership (ARPO) is a foster-based animal rescue located in Indianapolis, IN. Our mission is to reduce the number of pets entering shelters by providing safe, loving foster homes for cats and dogs of all breeds until they find their forever families.

We believe that every animal deserves a second chance in a home environment. Our network of dedicated volunteers ensures each pet receives the care, attention, and socialization they need to thrive. By working closely with the community, we aim to promote responsible pet ownership, support spay/neuter efforts, and make a lasting impact on the lives of animals in need.

At ARPO, we are not just saving cats and dogs - we are building a more compassionate community.
